Section 1: The Vegas Charity Event
On Friday, 74-year-old Jay Leno shared a health update at the inaugural amfAR benefit event in Las Vegas. Despite having a broken wrist, he appeared in good spirits, stating, "I'm feeling good." His face was covered in makeup to hide the badly bruised areas, which were a result of an earlier fall. This event honored Sylvester Stallone and his wife Jennifer Flavin Stallone.During the week, Leno was spotted grabbing lunch in Los Angeles with half of his face bruised and visible injuries. Despite the facial trauma, he managed to smile slightly, wearing a dark jacket over a gray T-shirt with a car on it. Some bruises were visible on the other side of his face, just below his eye.
Section 2: The Hotel Fall Incident
Leno's public appearance came after a severe fall at a hotel in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The former "Tonight Show" host had to navigate a steep, grassy hill to reach a dining establishment just 200 yards away from his hotel. He lost his footing and tumbled down a 60-foot hill into the parking lot. As a result, he broke his wrist, sustained significant bruises on his face and body, and even lost a fingernail.Despite the severity of his injuries, Leno continued to perform a stand-up comedy show for more than 1,500 people. He wore an eye patch to cover his injuries during the show, showing his dedication to his craft.
Section 3: Motorcycle Accident and Gasoline Fire
In January 2023, Leno was "knocked off" his motorcycle, breaking two ribs, two kneecaps, and a collarbone. He waited until he returned home to Los Angeles to have his injuries checked at a hospital. He brushed off the decision not to break his show schedule, stating it was no big deal.In 2022, Leno underwent multiple surgeries after suffering third-degree burns in a gasoline fire while working on one of his vehicles in his Burbank-area garage. He suffered significant burns to his face, hands, and chest. However, he was out of the hospital in eight and a half days and missed only two days of work.Leno has maintained a positive outlook over the past couple of years despite facing these personal struggles. He jokes about the incidents, stating that people get burned every day and that his experience wasn't as bad as a broken leg.Stephanie Giang-Paunon is an Entertainment Writer for Fox News Digital.
