Unlock the Beauty of the Louvre with 'De toutes beautés!'
Unveiling the 'One-of-a-Kind' Experience
In collaboration with L’Oréal Groupe Art, Culture & Heritage Department, the Louvre has curated a truly unique visiting experience. A collection of 108 works from across all its galleries has been selected, each representing beauty in its various forms and across different eras and cultures. This initiative aims to show the vast diversity of beauty and make it accessible to all. 1: The idea behind this journey is to offer visitors a fresh perspective on the Louvre's collections. As Laurence des Cars, president and director of the Louvre Museum, explains, it was born from a fruitful dialogue with the L’Oréal teams. Together, they designed a playful and accessible approach to the artworks, highlighting the beauty that spans time and cultures. 2: For example, the Hermaphrodite Endormi, a marble sculpture from 100-150 AEC and Anonymous, Italy, showcases a different aspect of beauty. Its delicate form and serene expression invite viewers to contemplate the concept of beauty in a unique way.Sparking a Dialogue on Beauty and Society
This initiative hopes to ignite a dialogue with a diverse audience about the role of beauty and appearance in society. It explores how moods and tolerances have changed over time and how that continues to evolve. 1: Visitors are guided through the museum along a specially designed route, with selected art works spanning 10,000 years from pre-history to the future. These artworks are signposted, and accompanied by a specially developed app containing written and audio guides. This allows visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the beauty represented in each piece. 2: Take, for instance, the Ancient Egyptian princess Nefertiabet. Her beauty products were so precious that they accompanied her to the afterlife. This shows the significance of beauty in different cultures and time periods. The Power of Beauty in L’Oréal's Purpose
Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oréal Groupe, emphasizes the importance of making beauty accessible to all. He explains that their purpose is to create beauty that moves the world and this partnership with the Louvre is a step towards that goal. 1: The Louvre's rich and diverse collections provide the perfect backdrop to explore the diverse and enduring role of beauty. Through this partnership, L’Oréal aims to tell the story of beauty from the dawn of time. 2: It is this drive to explore new partnership opportunities and approaches that has led them to collaborate with the Louvre. The Louvre's ability to shed light on even the most contemporary questions makes it an ideal partner.Click here for more information on the guided route, which is available now.
